We’re beneficiary of a new hand pump and borehole
We are excited to share that Chidamoyo was the recent beneficiary of a new hand pump and borehole! This new water source was made possible through the generosity of the Gulaliev family in New York. The family are friends of a recent visitor to the hospital, Seva, and they donated the new pump in memory of their parents.
This new water source has greatly helped the hospital's pregnant women who previously were waking up at 4 a.m. each morning and walking two kilometers to get in line to pump water needed for the day (which they then had to carry back two kilometers to the hospital). With the new pump being located very close to the New Waiting Mother's Shelter at Chidamoyo, expectant mothers and their families can now pump as much water as they need, as many times a day as they need it!
We are so thankful for this generous gift!
