A newly installed Fuji digital X-ray machine generously donated by the people of Japan
We are very excited to report that the digital x-ray machine that Chidamoyo received from a grant from the Government of Japan has been successfully delivered and installed and is working great. This new machine allows the hospital to take x-rays for pennies (unlike our prior conventional x-ray machine where one film cost $20). This new machine will significantly improve the quality of care the hospital can provide as many more patients can now afford to get x-rays and doctors will be able to use multiple films to make better and more accurate diagnoses. The machine also saves Chidamoyo a lot in operating expenses as it no longer has to regularly drive 5 hours to Harare to purchase the needed supplies (like films) that the conventional machine required. A big thank you to the Government of Japan for its generous support of Chidamoyo and the rural people of Zimbabwe that the hospital serves.
